All the ways to select in photoshop - Adobe Tutorial
Today I will show you all the different ways to make selections Here is a quick list • Rectangle tool (basic shapes, framing) When selecting: Shift to add, alt to extract. (modes in tool settings as well) • Lasso tool (custom shapes, quick and not that precise, very easy) • Pen tool (precise, curves, takes more time) • Quick selection tool (very quick, bad at some details) • Magic wand (quickest, only plain backgrounds) • Color range (object stands out enough, perfect for trees, hair) • Select subject (auto, great start of selection) • Select and mask (details, handwork, mostly automatic) • Ctrl+click mask (selecting layer fill) Here are the two ways I make selections: Not perfect but quick: select subject, select and mask for finish. Almost always works great. The perfect one: Select subject, unless (plain background(color range) or defined shape(pen tool)) Then: select and mask Subscribe for more tips, tell me what to cover next!
